The workshop “Introduction to Biological Solid State NMR“ is organized and sponsored by the Bio-NMR consortium, and aims at giving the trainee basic knowledge to solid-state NMR spectroscopy in relation to structure determination of solid proteins.
Topics covered will include basic introduction to solid-state NMR spectroscopy, introduction to basic pulse sequences for assignment and structure determination, interpretation of solid- state NMR spectra, assignment, and structure calculation.
The course will involve lectures, experiments on high-field solid-state NMR instrumentation, and computer calculations with focus on a small amyloid fibril system.
The course is an introductory solid state NMR course for biological samples. Participants should have some biochemical knowledge, and also know basic NMR. But the course *is* introductory, and so the focus is on basic, widely applicable techniques, rather than highly specific cases or new developments.
Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark
Bio-NMR offers the workshop for free for participants from non-profit institutes and provides a reimbursement of up to €475 to cover travel and accommodation costs. Value Added Tax is excluded from reimbursement.
